ICDL becomes enshrined into Kenyan law, two prestigious institutions join the family
Dear friend,
The International Computer Driving Licence (or ICDL) is the world's No. 1 basic computer skills qualification. In November 2009 the ICDL was enshrined into Kenyan Law, being adopted in the Kenya Information and Communications Act as the standard entry level computer certification. We hope that the ICDL shall eventually become the standard benchmark of computer competence here in Zambia.
There are now 22 accredited centres in Zambia, with the most recent additions to the ICDL family being two household names in Zambia:
1. Chengelo School in Mkushi. Chengelo is one of the most prestigious private boarding schools in the country with 200 pupils in the secondary school. They are going to start teaching the ICDL programme in 2010.
2. Zambia Centre for Accountancy Studies. ZCAS is one of the foremost tertiary institutions in the country specializing in management and accounting programmes. Recognising that ICT skills are essential for any professional today, the ICDL is to be incorporated into the ZCAS portfolio from 2010.
To find out how to obtain or to offer the ICDL please see our website www.icdl.org.zm http://www.icdl.org.zm or at any time you can text the word 'ICDL' to 888. If you have any queries about how to offer or to take the ICDL qualification in Zambia, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.
Best wishes,
