ICDL Train the Trainer Event a resounding success
Dear friend,
The International Computer Driving Licence (or ICDL) is the world's No. 1 basic computer skills qualification, and has been adopted by corporations, schools, the tertiary sector and community organizations throughout Zambia.
At the end of August 40 trainers from the Accredited Centres throughout Zambia gathered for a Train The Trainer workshop, facilitated by experts from ICDL in Zimbabwe and South Africa. The purpose was to ensure that trainers achieve the highest quality standards and are fully competent to handle the ICDL syllabus. Accredited Trainers need to pass four Advanced examinations and become an "ICDL Expert"; many of them are well on the way to achieving this status.
I am delighted to announce the most recent additions to the ICDL family:
1. Knowledge Cube. This commercial training centre in Lusaka offers ICT training to the corporate sector and inviduals. They have been part of a regional policy of Toyota HQ to get all staff accredited who use the management information systems.
2. National Council for Construction (NCC). The Construction School will start to offer ICDL core exams as well as specialist Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and will encourage all registered contractors to prove they have adequate ICT skills. After all, ICT skills are the "foundation" of any construction business.
To find out how to obtain or to offer the ICDL please see our website www.icdl.org.zm or at any time you can text the word 'ICDL' to 888 to receive up-to-date information.
If you have any queries about how to offer or to take the ICDL qualification in Zambia, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.
Best wishes,
